Plant Competition
6” Carbon Steel schedule 40 coupon with GTAW process using ER70S-2 wire on the Root & Hot Pass and SMAW process using E-7018 Fill and Cap
The test will be in the 5G position
Each welder will need to bring their personal hand tools specific to this test. All welding booths do have a tig rig but most may want to bring what they are comfortable with using.
Hand tools to include but not limited to: Brush, Chipping hammer, slag saw, file of your choice, welding hood, gap wire if you prefer but not mandatory, ETC.

Pipeline Competition
6” schedule 40 carbon steel coupon
the position of the coupon is the Butt (horizontal fixed) and Branch (Inverted fixed overhead) E6010 / E8010 Downhill
You will need to bring your own rig truck to compete in this category. The working order of the unit is your responsibility along with fuel and oil. We will work very hard to make this as good of an experience as we can so if something happens while at the competition we will do everything in our power to assist you in completing the test. All rig welders will need to bring the standard testing tools and equipment needed to complete the test and the test will be performed using your jack stands and your truck. No fab tables are available.
Executive Competition
